Happy Birthday Layout Ideas

This birthday layout is from a scrapbooking kit from Scrapjazz.com.  Go to the megastore, look under kits by American Traditional Designs.  This scrapbook kit is called Celebrate.  It has a bright fun design and feel to it.  I created 4 pages from this kit and I added a few of my own personal touches.  Take a look.

Page 1
Step 1
Find the piece of paper that has numbers all over on it.  You will use this for your base page.
Step 2
Find the title tag that has a purple border and is rectangle shaped with scallops at the ends.  Find the Red tag with a birthday cake on it.  Find the journal box with a drink and straw on it.  Locate the happy birthday, alphabet, birthday boy, what a wonderful party, Quote sticker that starts, Each birthday wish I've ever made... and star sticker.  You will use these later to embellish your page.  Set them aside for now.
Step 3
Find 2 photos (mine are 4x6) and matte one with a solid blue paper and the other with a soft yellow paper.   I found something that matched the blues/yellows in the background.
Step 4
Take the same blue and yellow paper you matted the pictures with and cut a blue piece 3 in. wide by 12 in.  Mine is cut to fit a 12x12 page.  Adjust yours as needed.  Cut the yellow piece 2 1/2 in. wide by 12 in. long.  Again, adjust length as needed.  Now, take the orange cardstock and cut a piece to fit in the center of the yellow piece.  It will be 2 1/2 in. by 6 in.  You will stick the yellow piece centered on top and bottom over the blue piece.  Then take the orange piece and center it in the middle of the yellow piece.  This piece will be placed at the bottom of the page.
Step 5
Take your stickers out.  Put the quote to the left of the orange box and the "What a wonderful party" to the right of the orange box.   Next, take the alphabet stickers and spell out your childs name across the top of the orange box.  Place the birhtday boy sticker off to the right and center.  Then I put my sons age under this centered towards the bottom of the orange box.  Then I put the star to the left  and center.
Step 6
Place your matted photos on the page.  One to the left and one to the right.  Leave space for your title tag at the top.  Leave space in between the photos for the birthday cake tag and journal box.  Place the bottom border you just made under these photos.  Just lay all the items on the page to see how you want them.  Then start sticking them to the page.  First attach the photos.
Step 7
Attach the title tag with red brads and put the happy birthday sticker, followed by the childs age, on the tag.  Attack the red birthday cake tag to the journal box covering the glass so that only the journal area shows.  Now attach this to the right edge of your left photo.  I centered it in middle of the photos.
Step back and take a look at your finished page.
More to come, soon.
